06/09/2020 – Easybasket in Europe Final Sport Event has been held yesterday afternoon at the “Olimpia Underground Kobe Bryan” in the “G. Pascoli” School of Matera – Italy.
EIE – Easybasket In Europe, Erasmus + project has been proposed by Olimpia Basket Matera as its coordinator with the following partnership: FIP – Italian Basketball Federation, APD Pielle Basket Matera, ASD Culture and Sport Matera, Istituto Comprensivo “G. Pascoli” School Matera, Lietuvos Sporto Universitetas (University of Sports of Lithuania), Czech Basketball Federation (Czech Republic Basketball Federation), Deutscher Basketball Bund (Germany Basketball Federation), Danmarks Basketball Forbund (Denmark Basketball Federation) and Fundaciòn Red Deporte y Cooperaciòn (NGO, Madrid).
After the lockdown phase due to Covid-19, the partners have completed the drafting of the Easybasket Guidelines (download the Italian version) which will be published in the different languages of the countries involved in the project. On the other hand, the e-learning Web platform is currently being finalized: this tool is essential for disseminating the innovative approach methodology to an engaging discipline reserved for children aged from 5 to 8. The project targets also a fourth intellectual output that regards the practical application of the Easybasket model: this output too is close to be finished.
The final sport event represents a point of arrival of the project: it has been coordinated by Prof. Maurizio Cremonini, Technical Manager of the Easybasket In Europe project and National Technical Manager of the FIP Minibasket Sector, assisted by Roberta Regis , Member of the National Minibasket Staff and FIP Responsible for School.
The event has been an opportunity to practically verify the considerable progress of a training and education work carried out since January 2019: the new model of the Easybasket discipline, developed during the two years of the project, was applied in practice with games and mini-matches involving all athletes.
The final sporting event was organized with the support of the CSI Provincial Committee of Matera coordinated by Olimpia Matera: due to the restrictions deriving from the current epidemic situation Covid.19, the event was only at an interregional level, with the participation of basketball club coming from the surroundings of Matera. The minibasket club that attended the event with their own instructors and athletes, in small numbers, were: ASD Murgia Basket Cassano delle Murge (BA), Libertas Altamura (BA), Ballers Molfetta (BA), Scuola Basket Delfini Monopoli (BA), Fortitudo Trani, ASD Olimpia Gioia Del Colle, ASD Polisporting Grassano (MT), APD Pielle Matera (MT).
The event took place in complete safety in strict compliance with social distancing and Covid-19 regulations, following the protocol that the Italian Basketball Federation drew up on 3 August 2020 (visit FIP website).
A great basketball party for children came as result. At the end of the pleasant day, the awards ceremony has take place in the presence of some project partners : the president of Olimpia Basket Matera, Mr. Rocco Sassone, and the EIE project manager, Sergio Galante spoke to the children closing the event.
The official closure of the two-year project is scheduled for next 10 October with the Multiplier Sport Event in Matera: it will be an opportunity to demonstrate how the project has created a sustainable network to generate and promote good practices and increasing participation in sport.
